Just picked one of these up. Everything I can read says to use blackhorn 209, but I can not find it anywhere around me. Wondering if anyone has experience with this set up shooting something other than blackhorn?

I shoot a cva accura in .50. Been running triple 7. Have not tried the Blackhorn 209, but after reading this:

I might try it. In this test it had more consistent velocities.

Is it available around you? I’ve called and searched everywhere, usually ends with them laughing saying they haven’t seen it in months or over a year

I just use the Hodgdon Triple 7 50/50 pellets for my CVA Wolf .50. That paired with a 245gr Powerbelt Aero Tip can get me just outside of a 1-1.5" group at 100 yards. Not bad for a $200 rifle, maybe the or one of the cheapest production rifles someone can buy brand new? My Dad has an Optima that groups a little tighter than the Wolf - as expected. That Accura will be a fine smoke pole.
