I have used a soldering iron with a chisel shaped point. Works like a champ.

Yep. Im not sure the havalon blade will work but it's worth a shot. The issue is that I believe soldering iron tips are made of copper (for heat conductivity) and then coated in something else to make them more durable. You would need a welded or soldered joint for good heat transfer, and even then I dont feel like it will transfer heat well to the tip. You should be able to buy tips specifically designed cutting fabricGood to hear. Did the edges come out clean with no fraying? If I can avoid spending $70 on a hot knife that would be awesome. I am considering attaching a havalon blade to a soldering iron too.
