For sale is an original Remington Hepburn #3 barreled action in 38-55. The barrel is 28 inches and is a half octagon/half round with double wedding bands. I also purchased some beautiful wood that Treebone Carving cut for me. I found original an Axtell front globe and tang rear sight and original Remington metal buttplate and forend tip. I sent everything to John King of Kila, MT. to rebuild. I have the invoice showing the work performed. The action, forend tip and buttplate are case colored and the rest of the metal is rust blued. The stocks were also fitted, stained and finished and the buttstock checkered. The barrel was relined to 38-55 and the chamber was recut to 38-55 long for .375 -.377 lead bullets. I have new Starline 38-55 long brass available for the buyer to purchase.
The rifle has some of the best walnut I have seen and the fit and finish is perfect. The rifle is unfired since built in 2017 and it is time to get it to someone that will enjoy it.
