Looking for input on the positives and negatives of both along with overall general assessment. For reference, I've worn Solomon 4D GTX for the past 2.5 seasons and aside from the lack of water resistance totally approve.
My Crispi questions, which is the more flexible boot? WY v Thor
Overall water resistance assessment?
Heel cup? I have a skinny heel and need a good tight fit here.
Thanks for the input!

So they are more and less flexible in different areas.
The Wyomings are 3 flex so they will have more flex in the shank aka like your toes flex.
But with the abss the upper part is stiffer.
The thor has a stiffer flex rating in the shank 4 less toe flex.
But the upper is more like a keen hiker. Think super flexible shoe mounted on a kinda flexy board.
Water resistance is good.
I think coming from the 4d u would like the Wyomings better.

I have Thor’s and Idaho’s which is the high top Wyoming. I also had a pair of those Solomon’s but they weren’t wide enough in the forefoot so I gave them away.

Thor’s are like a midweight hiker with a very stiff sole.

My Idaho’s are a lot more boot in nearly every way. More supportive upper and thicker stiffer sole. If they are meant to be more flexible than the Thor’s I can’t tell.

I have about 60 miles on the Thor’s and probably more on the Idaho’s. Both are holding up well. No leaks. No wear issues.

I have a wide forefoot and narrow heel and they both fit very well and true to size with a super feet green insert.

I think those Solomon’s are in the middle of the two and closer to the Wyoming.

Between the two, on a hardcore, long mile backpack hunt I would take the Wyoming for added stiffness and support. The Thor’s see a lot of use on day hunts and hiking but they are certainly capable of more. I have hauled out an 80 pound load in them 4-5 miles with no problem.

I ran pair of Wyomings last year. If you have a fairly wide fore foot they would be a great boot. I have average width foot and they were little too loose, ended up with some blister issues.

I might be too late for this thread but I just bought a pair of Thors and they are the most comfortable boot Ive tried on out of the box. Ive been having a hard time finding boots that fit. I Sent back Zamberlans cougars for being too narrow in front and too much heel rub, I sent back lowa Bighorn for too much room in the heels and sent back Asolo Neutrons in wide forhaving too much room in the heel. I'm kinda of between a regular and wide depending on brand and got the thors in a regular 13. I hope they are warm enough for a 1st or 2nd colorado elk rifle season. I sick of trying boots and am already out about $50 sending boots that don't fit back.

Something to keep in mind on those wyoming's and idaho's the rubber "reinforcements or bracing web" might start to separate, happened to me on over 4 pairs(both idaho and wyomings). Comfortable boots but with a flaw IMO.

I have the Thors with a few days hunting Turkey in them. I really like them so far. Like some one mentioned they are like a day hiker with a stiff sole. The rocker in the sole makes them feel less stiff and pretty agile when walking. If you have weak ankles or ankle issues they might not be the best. Since the upper is so flexible the whole boot wants to roll off irregularities instead of a softer sole conforming to the objects.

I got a pair of Thors last spring. One of the most comfortable boots I’ve worn. Ended up changing the insole for a little for padding as I had a little discomfort under my big toes. Wasn’t bad, insoles just made it better. Enjoyed the stiffness of them and the light weight of them. Had them on several mountain hunts and multiple heavy pack outs. Still have no issues with water proofing. Negatives would be that I’m already out of tread on the soles and they are breaking down fast. Worn them on some light training hikes and a 10 mile shed hunt last weekend and am now very disappointed with them. For what they cost I was hoping they would hold up longer
