For the guys that have experience with both the Idaho and guides I’m looking for a little advice/ input. I’ve worn the Idaho’s for many years and love the boots my only complaint is they don’t last that long I go through a set in a year but I do wear them quite often… several hunting trips a year and most weekend when I’m out doing whatever… questions are do the guides last any longer than the Idaho? How is the fit on them vs Idaho and do they have much of a break in period? The Idaho’s seem to be ready to go right out of the box for me but the guides look to be a little stiffer heavier built boot. Thanks for any input anyone can add.

I have not owned either because they were both too wide for me, but I tried them both as well as the Wyoming and Nevada. The guide is not quite as wide as the Idaho and the Wyoming and Nevada fit mostly the same as the Idaho and Guide respectively but are just shorter. I cant speak to durability, but they are leather but a supple leather. If you put some waterproofing/leather treatment on them I believe they would last considerably longer than the Idaho. That being said, I have used the waterproofing that crispi sells and it kinda sucks. If you dont anticipate getting them re-soled, then I would use a wax product. I have heard that a waxed leather is hard to get the rubber rand to adhere to.
