Crimping for 6.8 Western?

My son and I are going to load some 68 Western rounds this evening. Is anybody crimping this?… discuss! I’ve been reloading 30-06 and .243 Winchester for about four years, so I am familiar with how to work up a load.

Yup, I'm using the Lee factory crimp die.

How are you guys liking this round? Any body shooting it out of a 20” barrel? What kind of velocity are you seeing? I’m considering switching to this once my wsm barrel is toasted. Ammo is fairly available in my area, at least enough so to build up a pile of brass for reloading.

I don’t crimp any rifle cartridges. Even for my AR…

I’ve seen big accuracy improvement with crimping. I increase about 1/8 turn at a time on crimp amount until I find the best setting with accuracy. To me it further refines consistency of bullet grip.

For hunting not a big deal but we all seem to go down the accuracy rabbit hole
