Communication between a Zoleo and InReach

I have an inreach. Hunting partner has a Zoleo. We do communicate, but not as easily as inreach to inreach. Or even inreach to mobile phone via text.

When I message a cell phone, a link is provided to see my location. When I message the Zoleo, it gets coordinates. When the Zoleo messages me I get coordinates. I can open a new waypoint and type in the coordinates and the location appears to be correct to us. Is there a better way? Should I download Zoleo app? And he the Earthmate app?

Having a similar issue--except I can't get my garmin to communicate with my buddies zoleo--and same for him communicating with my garmin messenger. Any advice on how to set up communication between the two?
