Colorado Unit 2 Elk Early Rifle

My dad drew the early rifle hunt in Unit 2. We are focusing on the north half of the unit, not Douglas Mtn.

He is into his 70's now and this is a once in a lifetime hunt for him, any information you are willing to share would be greatly appreciated.
