Hey guys
So Im heading to CO for an over the counter Archery Elk tag this year and wondering if anyone has some cunning plans as to how to get my head home as cheap as possible if I am lucky enough to get a bull.
I will be hunting with a friend of mine form Denver and worst case I just leave it with him.
I live In NZ so have to fly quite a ways haha.
I was planning on just doing a euro mount and have heard of possibly boiling them and spitting the skull so they are more compact to transport then putting it together when I get home.
Has anyone got experience with this?
I was also hoping to sell/trade/give away the head skin and cape to anyone/taxidermist who can help with this.
Any other cunning tips??
Thanks

Might check on American elk skull going to NZ. Heard there was an issue once upon a time. If it were me, cut off antlers, make/get a box, nest them together and check them as luggage. Get a red deer skull back home and have the antlers attached to that. They are very similar.
