Colorado First Season Elk

Have done some research and looked through some threads on here. Headed to Colorado to the Flat Tops with a bull and a cow tag. Any tips? I see varying reports of crowds. What has it been like the past few years? We expect any weather conditions.

First season to clarify.

Crowds. Hunt every day dark to dark. Don’t be afraid to hike in to areas far off trail and still hunt in pockets of thick stuff. Be at your chosen spot at least 45 min before shooting light on opening morning.

Keep a positive mind set even if you aren’t into them as action can change quick during rifle season
