Ok guys set me straight. This is subject to nonresident in case it matters. I read somewhere that you could apply for preference point first and then draw hunts for second and third choices. Thus allowing you to recieve a point and hopefully a hunt as well. Doesn't seem to me like that would work. Does it? Thanks for the help.

yes you can, just use the p-999-99-p code for your first choice and then enter the unit you want for your second choice. However A word of caution there are only a few GMU's that you can draw a tag anymore on a second choice.

Do it all the time with archery hunts.....

Draw a point & hunt OTC...at least for elk and antelope.

It totally depends on the hunt codes you're using for 2nd and 3rd or 4th choices. Any of the undersubscribed draw hunts should be easy to get as a second choice. But these hunts seem to be dwindling as the state reaches objective numbers in a lot of the areas.
