Hi!

I'm looking at 76 for archery deer this year. I'm curious if anyone would be willing to give me general info about it. Please send a PM.

I'm familiar with Colorado units 62, 53, and 66.

Thanks!

I was thinking of trying to drew a tag for archery in 62 for elk. I have 17 points. Would you recommend 62.

62 is OTC and heavy pressure. You are thinking of 61, on the other side of Divide Road, for the point draw. Some guys in my camp have hunted it in the past and used a guide. My perspective is that there are big boys in there, but it can still be a very tough hunt just purely due to the ruggedness of the terrain. Unless you have inside info and/or can scout all year, I personally would use a guide 100%.

61 is one of the funnest hunts there is. Lots of elk.

No need for a guide.

@cnelk You call me bullshit? Did I say it wasn't fun? Did I say there wasn't lots of elk? I haven't been in 61, but my camp mates have. I've spent a ton of time going up and down the mesas in 62. It is tough country.

Any elk hunter worth their salt doesn’t need an outfitter in 61.

Classic hijack lol…

76 along w all the South West units are very hot for a reason. Heck they killed the world record a stones throw from there a couple years ago.

Get in there, put in the work, and you will be pleased w what you find. Good luck 🍀!
