I'm looking at a new set of pants and jacket. I have the kuiu guide gear and it just doesn't hold up in the late November hunts. Knee deep snow, wind, and rain are the norm here. Was wondering what you guys are using. Would like a water/wind proof set that is soft shell and doesn't have that swish sound every time you move. I saw browning has some new hells canyon gear, anyone tried it? Thanks for the input.

I just got my kryptek cadog set yesterday. I got it 50% off for a warranty issue on my Einar jacket. They don't make that anymore so they offered me 50% off anything. Any way, it seems pretty quiet and warm so far. I have enough layers to put under if need be. I'm planning on this set being my late season Pa hunting set.

I love the Natural Gear bibs and jacket for nasty snow with wind. Cheap to buy but real quality stuff. I hate being cold. Some good merino base, gloves, beanie and a face mask is essential. Spent a long, cold, exhausting week in Utah in mine.

I would take a look at the First Lite North Branch set. It is extremely water resistant (I wear mine when it is pissing rain and foggy and stay dry) and 10k breathability rating. Although windproof and breathable are polar opposites, it should keep you plenty warm with a good set of base layers.

Why not just layer with what you already have?? A good set of gaiters will help with the knee deep snow. You'll need a hardshell if you want wind/water proof.
I can't think of any softshell made that'll give you everything you're wanting.

Here's what I use for our December Muzzleloader/Shotgun deer season.

Top:
Merino base
Sitka Traverse mid
KUIU Kenai puffy
I carry a rain jacket in the pack incase of freezing rain.

Bottom:
Merino base
Sitka 90% pants
KUIU Yukon gaiters

As long as I'm moving slowly I don't get too hot or stay cold while keeping relatively quiet.
