Well I thought I had an answer, but you've got a few qualifications that kinda limit your field. For me, depends on if I'm moving or not, but for moving, I like a simple Mountain Hardwear fleece beanie...what is that, the MicroChill? Whatever that cheap $10 fleece beanie they have in grey is. For being still and super cold, the Sitka Blizzard Beanie is nuts. They have the Ballistic Beanie, which I'm not sure is Windstopper, but dang that fleece they use is like "bake you out of your treestand" warm.

I am loving the Kryptek Kiska Beanie. They make it in Orange, inferno is the color they call it. Warm, not hot, and fits snug and cozy. For something really thick, I have always used a carhartt beanie, which is also made in blaze orange. Kept me warm on the Bering sea.

If you go with an Ice Breaker merino wool beanie you can dye it whatever color you want and then treat it with a DWR like Atsko Extreme Water Guard. I've stood out in the pouring rain in 40°F weather walking the dog and stayed warm and dry.

smart wool makes a nice low bulk beanie and Sportsmans Warehouse near me has them in blase orange(one side) they are not waterproof and don't block wind.As my natural head insulation is in full retreat now I need something more substantial when temps dip into the 20s

Not blaze orange but very warm, wind proof, and super comfortable. I just picked up this Sitka gear beanie a couple weeks ago and I'm loving it. I think they may also make it in blaze orange.

For these temperatures it works quite well.

I don't have anything that's wind proof, waterproof or resistant, or orange in a beanie type hat. But I use my First Light Merino beanie under a baseball cap when I need a little extra warmth, and use a heavy wool watch cap that will actually cover my ears if it's real cold. Or I'll use a full balaclava with ski goggles if it's even worse out. I've used that setup many times in some of those later rifle hunt blizzards.

Sitka makes I think 3 different varieties of beanies and all 3 come in BLAZE (I have all three) and keep them at least in my duffel - from mid season to late season there is no ONE that will do it all for me - If you peruse through Sitka ENTIRE website ie; Big Game/ Whitetail/ solid colors there they'll all be

Which models do you have? I'm looking at the Sitka website, and seeing more than three versions of beanies. By chance do you happen to have the Fanatic, and if so where did you get it in orange?

I use a merino beanie from icebreaker and layer it with under a windstopper beanie from sitka.( the jetstream0. Like a layering system works for the body, I use layers on my noggin. If really cold while glassing I pull a buff over everything as well . Extremely variable weather systems here in Newfoundland.

I'm also of the layering head gear camp. Even in bitter cold temps, if I'm humping up a steep pitch I want something light and breathable- when I slow down or stop I want something heavier- if it's extreme, I put on both

my favorite lightweight beanie is the Patagonia Capilene skull cap (they keep changing the name for some reason), but it's a mid-weight grid fleece- weighs all of 0.8 oz :)

for layering over the top (or on it's own) I like the Sitka Jetstream- windstopper membrane, full ear coverage (can fold it up out of the way when not needed), good DWR and lined with a micro grid fleece
