Coaxial vs rock chucker

I use an RCBS Turret with all the dies and powder measure mounted on the turret. I just change turrets and powder measure when I change calibers.

Me too. I’ve never understood how swapping dies seemed to jam people up so bad. 🤣

Yeah, i dont get it either. How is repeatability any different for a lock ring in a coax vs a lock ring screwed tight to the top of a traditional press? What am I missing?

I didn't think they made a case ejector/kicker for a coax which is a deal breaker for me but saw this vid. Not sure if this is a product that's currently available?

That’s pretty cool - a case kicker speeds up 223, 300 BLK, etc. would be a pain to have to take the case out each time.

I like the look of the SAC Nexus, but not sure if I’d be willing to drop the $$$. My Hornady isn’t perfect, but still gets the job done.

I switched from a Rockchucker that I learned to reload on 30 years ago to a Coax a couple years ago. Not sure why, just a wild hair I guess.
I do like it's features quite a bit more and the "self aligning" nature made sense to me.
Not sure if it was totally worth it, but I do like it.

Only press I've ever mounted to my bench is a basic Lee Classic Cast. Of all the things to blow $ on, a gucci single stage feels like the least bang for your buck especially if there isn't commercially available shell ejectors/kickers. Finally got a Dillon 550 last week but have yet to set it up.. I dont think I'll use it for sizing much because its probably still slower than my Lee unless i wanted to expand with a mandrel or deprime in a separate stage.

Once you set the Dillon up I’ll bet that Lee just gathers dust
Put a drop of oil under the primer transfer bar and run a bit of powdered graphite through the powder measure to slick things up before you use it

I kind of doubt it. One sizing die with a shell kicker is quick and easy for size/deprime on the Lee and the Dillon can stay setup to prime, charge, seat.

I have both the Forster co-ax and a rock chucker, I perfer the co-ax but both have their place on my Bench, if I had to get one I’d get the co-ax with the SAC lock rings

I bought my RC2 in 1994 and loved it. I loaded a LOT of ammo on it. I bought a coax a few years ago and haven't touced the rcbs since.

Take the handle off the coax because you won't need it. I had swapped my RC2 to hornady quick change bushings and added a spacer to swap back and forth with my hornady press and not reset dies.....now, they're all sitting there lonely and the coax does the work.

The coax has the slowest priming of any press ever, BUT, it also can be as accurate on primer depth as the most expensive. I just bulk prime with a hand held and if I want to play the crush game.....I can.

The coax is faster, easier and more accurate.

The die floats in a forster, i polish the lock ring to assist even further in doing so. Spoze it’s whatever you have confidence in and get the results wanted, we all have our methods and beliefs in such to get there…Forster is a great company. Good luck.
