Co unit 48

According to the Colorado backdoor I have been drawn for unit 48 1st season elk. I've spent weeks on Google earth studying the unit before I decided to put in for it. Was curious if anyone has hunted this area, I most likely will do 3-4 days of scouting before the hunt but anything helps. I plan on setting up a truck basecamp and am fully setup for pack in bivy style hunts. I've done a fair amount of pack hunting purely looking to have a solid opportunity at my first elk. Thanks in advance to any help

There are some good bulls in there, but lots of timber. With only 5 days in the season I wouldn't be too choosy.

Cnelk, funny you mention that. Two of my buddies hammered em this year in 48. Were in decent elk every day on a 5 day hunt.
