CO mule deer

Why is CO mule deer 2nd season & 3rd season only? I'd love to be out there 1st season. Will they ever change that ?

Used to be a combined season. Many moons ago. I think declining populations lead to the change. Spares all of those deer killed just because somebody wanted to shoot something and they weren’t smart enough to run.

2026 is not released yet. However, looks like there was major changes in the past few years.

Bigger changes coming in 2028.....

The brochure is released in late February, application opens early March, deadline is 1st Tuesday in April at 8pm MDT. Every year.

The mule deer seasons are all 4 of the rifle seasons.
