CO Elk Hunting 2020

I am doing my first elk hunt this year, hopefully first rifle in CO. I am having a hard time actually finding season dates, application information, etc on the CPW website. Is this information not out yet, or can someone point me in the right direction if it is?

Im looking as a first timer too. The only thing I see for now is 2019 booklets. Using it as a guide to start figuring things out until the 2020 version is available.

The 2020 Brochure isn't out yet for Big Game. I believe those come out in March. Turkey is the only one out for 2020.

I think they do set the season dates in advance. I'll see if I can find them.

First Season will be October 10th through the 14th in 2020.

They post dates of the next 5 years season's dates. Can't remember where on the website it is.

Thanks for the help! I read on another website when the season dates would be, but couldn't find anything on application deadlines, etc. Looks like I just need to wait a bit longer on that, which is fine, just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing the boat.

Colorado's big game application deadline has historically been the first Tuesday of April, which would be 4/7 this year. The 2020 big game brochure, which will contain all date/deadline/unit/etc info, is scheduled for release mid-February per the CPW website.

As other people have mentioned, it isn't out yet, but you can look at the "Final Draft" that they have which will be discussed at the January commission meeting on the 15'th and 16'th. This is not the pretty format that you would expect, but if you are looking for something specific you can find it in here and look for any red text to see a change from last year. Also note that there might be some small changes because they still have to approve this one and the quota isn't set until after the draw so the numbers will be the same as last year for everything except the big 3.
