CO archery OTC unit 47

My buddy and I were looking at driving in for the second week of archery and are moving further north to get away from the fire in the South. We were looking at 47 because it had a lot of public land and a good portion of that is wilderness.

But the hunter count for the past few years and therefore the kills are really low.

Anyone have experience with the area just to let us know if it's because it's just a really hard hunt or is it because there aren't any animals? We don't mind a tough hunt but don't want to waste or time in a unit with a really low head count.
