Getting pretty excited about my hunt! If anybody has any advice, info, or suggestions I'd love to hear it! Not sure what to expect so any info would be great, just to pass the time till Nov. and give me something to daydream about. Thanks!

I have been hunting 3rd season for the last few years in a different unit. It has been a mix of 40s-50s with nothing on the ground to low 20s with a foot of snow. One year we got dumped on the second weekend. Weather is definitely a mix during 3rd.

Ok, how about good restaurants or tourist attractions to see after the hunt....ANYTHING!!!

Quite a ways away from my area, but third season is a little later on the calendar this year so that may help. If there has been cold weather before the hunt they will start migrating and also might get into the rut at the end of the season. If it's warm still, they won't have moved much.

I've got a long-term forecast on my phone that shows lows in the teens and single digits. I know it's just a guess but I like the way it looks! Thanks for the input!

Weather, unfortunately, is the big unknown variable. As was noted above, warm weather is possible, but so is cold and snow... stop in a Traders Randevous in Gunnison. You won't regret it.

Depends on what kind of tourist attractions you're looking for but Crestted Butte can sometimes be cool to walk around, but Gunnison has a lot of cool places too.

If you are looking for a burger try the Gunnisack on main street and if you want Pizza try Pie Zans or Marios, breakfast Mom's Kitchen or The W Cafe are tough to beat around those parts.

As noted before traders rendevous is a pretty cool little place to go check out. If you got kids getting close to college age check out the campus of Western State they have been doing a lot of work to it lately and it looks great!
