Does anyone have any experience using CMI Archery products? Interested in giving them a try as the Easton 5mm Match Grade inserts are back ordered

I’ve never heard of em so I can’t help you there..
why not just use a HIT insert tho?

Was looking to get more weight up front(100gn points +50ish insert) but never even thought about going with the 50gn brass HITs. HITs are one of my least favorite things to glue up but they have never failed me, with the exception of some messed up glue jobs due to using a bad epoxy I was playing around with.

Makes sense! Yeah I hate putting in HITs but once in is over with I guess lol

You did make me rethink everything. Ended up ordering the Ethics 25gn HITs to run with the Easton Match Grade collars that come with the 5.0s. Will put me at 142 total weight up front which is close enough to what I was going for. But still get all the benefits of the HIT system. And was actually alittle cheaper too. Thank you!

I started using iron will’s hot glue. Can change things around and play with things. Easy to change but seem to be super durable.

I did a lot of reading about in some other threads, I have some coming! Seems like a great work around having to use the epoxy and risk something shifting and ruining an arrow. Do you just hot melt the insert or screw the point in and hot melt the entire deal?

I’ve just been hot melting the insert. Shot all summer a lot and tac shoots and no problems. I thought about hot melting the entire thing in but haven’t felt the need yet.

That’s good to know, was curious how it held up in 3D targets. I’ve using the Bohning cool flex on my target arrows and gotten through 2 indoor seasons without ever pulling a point. Do you still use the HIT tool to set them?

I’ve used somewhere around 7-8 dozen of their Titanium inserts. IMO some of the best on the market. I prefer them over my Iron Wills
That’s good to know, I’d like to give them a try at some point. What makes you prefer them over the IWs?
