Chugach NX

Well I wanted to order a Yukon jacket from Kuiu but they didn't have any. Instead I got a Chugach jacket and pants. They seem pretty legit and with those prices it's a win win. So to those of you that already own this gear, is it as good as advertised? I live in Alaska like many others so being wet is common place to hunt up here. Looks like a solid lightweight shell. I currently have Cabela's MT050 and it is past it's life.

I ordered the Chukach NX as well.The yukon was tempting but it is heavier and i will just be adding the shell as needed so lighter is better for me.

I just got the top and bottom NX as well. I've heard really good stuff regarding the original Chugach, and the NX is supposed to be better. I guess we'll see.

have two sets of cabelas guide rainwear insulated and uninsulated tops and bottoms. they are top notch and have served me well on the harley, you will stay dry. but even the uninsulated will heat you up just walking down to the mailbox. was looking towards the yukon too but bought the chugach, cant pass up a sale. was also looking at all the first lite stuff and was waiting for the rainwear test to be done. have heard lots of good on chugach so it will be fine on my forays to the woods chasing birds and gators with my camera. will also pack it along in the kayak for similar trips. will also see some truck time on trips.

What sizes did you guys order? I went with XXL in pants and jacket.

Chugach is good raingear. Suited me well from Bethel to Prince William Sound and everywhere in between.

Does KUIU offer the chugach jacket in a solid color? Firstlite makes a solid color that i think i could get more use out of but ive loved every KUIU product ive purchased and would like to stick with their line.

Both First Lite and the NX are great products. Get the NX if you like the camo and want a closer fit. Get the FL if you like the solid color and need room to run a chest rig, its like the FL was designed for that purpose.
