Can someone that actually knows tell me if the evoke action is the same as the mesa action, they both claim to be a rem700 footprint, whatever that means, and by that it could just mean using the same screw spacing.
The mesa looks to be a literal 700 clone with the same dimensions in action and bolt diameter along with length if I’m not mistaken. So as to the evoke, other that the ejection cuts is it also the same 700 action in length and diameter or is something changed.
Some pics show a long recoil that visibility extends doe the barrel much more that a rem700 or mesa, this is at the barrel action junction, while other pics show the same short looking Remington recoil lug
Ive also noticed in the evokes long action like an h&h the ejection port is cut far back into the action, looks shorter that a rem700 long.
It’s incredible that I’ve ask this on some top sites and no one seems to know, the customer service guy at CA definitely seemed to have no clue. Thanks for any help guys.
Side note, also on their lapua action, is the diameter of that action and bolt any larger than a standard 700, again thanks.
