Last year I had my bow stolen in South fork Co and I have saved all year to buy a Hoyt Spider. I found a used one on another site and struck a deal and sent payment and he sent the bow. I watched the tracking number so I knew when it was at our post office and when it would be delivered. Long story short the mail man left it by the mail box by the road instead of driving down to the house and leaving it on the front porch like every other package they have delivered in the
las ten years. So apparently someone picked up the box by the mail box and it is gone. Post office says not their fault. So I am out a bow. So my question if you only a around $300 dollars what bow would you buy? Thanks

That's awful, sorry to hear about your bad luck.

If the package didn't have insurance then I guess you can't argue with the post office too much.

If you don't have have brand loyalty I would look into a used Bowtech Assassin or older Hoyt. ArcheryTalk should have some deals in their classified ads.

What site did you buy the Spider from?

I know its a touch out of your budget but I am selling a bowtech destroyer 340 that I would sell for $415 tyd insured. Pm me if you're interested.

204guy no I'm not. Wish I was. Lot of left handed bows worth the money out there.

Yeah, I was going to ask that. I'm a lefty and I've never sold a bow in 20 years so I've got bow laying on shelves in the garage.

But since I can't send you one of those, and being a Hoyt guy, I'd look at a Hoyt from a few years ago. The Alpha Burner or one of the Tec models. Heck, even one of the older ones from the late 90's or early 2000's. Other than the camo pattern from like 98/99, I still think those are some of the best looking Hoyts out there. A bit heavy and slow by today's standards, but dead-easy to tune and work on and will still kill any deer out there and you can get them for like $100 all day long. I still have and shoot several of those.

BTW, you check the local pawn shops or local CL and such for your bow?

Thanks for all your suggestions and thoughts. I traded for a Bowtech Guardian from a fellow member here. Now all I need to to do is get arrows and a rest and I'm back in business. Thank you again. There are a great group of guys here on this site. God bless .
