Hello I am looking for some information on anybody who uses the ultralight chairs for glassing backpacking and so forth. Does everybody just use the helinox brand chairs or are the ones that are on Amazon for about half price any good A lot of them seem to have good reviews but obviously I don't know one brand from another. Curious if anybody has any reviews or input and if they are even worth having to use for glassing and backpacking. Also any preference between the standard size chairs and the ones with the higher backs that weigh a little more

I have about 3 trips in my chair zero. I am heavy - 250#. It is holding up well to my fat ass. Only issue I have so far is it will peg into soft ground. Haven’t found a great way to prevent this without adding weight. Apart from that it is working fine.

+1 for the chair zero. Fair warning: heavy winds will blow it straight into a fire/stove if you look away for a second.

Chair zero for me. Love it. My hunting partners have the trekology chairs. They’re a little heavier (2 lbs. vs 1 lb. for chair zero), but they seem to be holding up great.

My take. For glassing I like a foam pad and just sit on the ground. A three Legget stool works OK but then you have to have a taller tripod set up too. The extra height of all that equates to extra weight.

Those Thurmarest sling type chairs work good for glassing, the ones that turn your pad into a seat

The Helenox chairs are good for relaxing but you lean back too much for glassing, IMO.

If you are a fairly lightweight guy you can probably get away with the knock off version but I doubt somebody like me at 240 can / grin

Alite Mayfly is the perfect glassing chair. Been using it for 4 years now and it’s fought over every year by my hunting partners that get jealous.

Helinox Ground Chair for me. Our ground is a little soft up here so anything with individual legs will sink into the ground. It’s a little lower back than some options but I like it. They quit making them FYI so if you decide you want one, better grab it soon.

I second the Alite Mayfly. It's lower to the ground and looks to have a wider footprint than some of the other chairs like the Helinox. Disadvantage is it's heavier.

Well thank you guys I went to a couple of different stores and get to try a couple of them out and doing some research online I actually came across a new one that is being released by Big Agnes and decided to give it a try it looked exactly like what I was looking for it was lightweight yet larger and able to give me plenty of support
