Can anyone provide a comparison between the soft and extra soft pads offered by Cervellati? I need to change some recoil pads and don't know which softness level to go with. I'm thinking 23mm thickness for what it's worth.

They aren't that expensive, so I can order one/some of each, but I thought I'd seek out some testimonials first to try and save a few bucks.

Thanks

I’ve used these for many years. They are “cheap” but they are extremely light weight, so Ive used where I need light in the butt for balancing a gun where I want—they weigh about 1/3 what a sorbothane pad does. I actually didnt know they made two softnesses. The ones Ive been using never had any designation of softness, as recently as a year or two ago. Looking at the place Ive purchased from (hastings distribution) I believe it was the “soft” I have used. The one gripe I have with these pads is that if you stand a heavier gun up on the butt, the pad will flatten after a couple years. Whichever is the one ive been using absorbs recoil pretty well, so I dont know that Id want any softer than that. Unless you really want the light weight I’d prefer a sorbothane pad such as a kickeeze or decelerator.

I was also not aware of the different softness levels and like Macintosh said, I'd be concerned about the extra soft pad crushing over the years. I have several (again I'm not sure of the softness level) on shotguns and they haven't flattened yet, but I am worried they will eventually get crushed storing them vertically.
