Texas had a 1000 year event.

I'm curious who recorded the previous similar flood a thousand years ago.
We had a 100 year flood then a couple 500 year floods; all within a few years.

People rely too much on the "experts". And then they blame others when
something happens to them.

My then-girlfriend and I floated the Guadalupe in 1986 -- took about eight hours for us and our inner tubes to make it from the put-in point to takeout point.

We made the same trip in 1987 -- on a raft -- in 45 minutes. In one section, the guide pointed at a watermark 50+ feet above us (and above houses that had been built since), and said "that was where the water was in back in '69." Might have been '67, but I didn't find records for that.
