Day 10 on two Priority pkgs currently.
One took 8d from Grand Junction to Denver.
Denver’s distribution center has been a giant weak link for years.
I had a priority package go through denver back in early October. I finally received it in December. It took some 50 days to get delivered to me.

During that time, the tracking would falsely update stating that the package left the facility.

Thanks federal gubment.

New USPS screw up. I'm waiting on 4 priority packages. 1 of them said I must schedule a re-delivery attempt ! Really? Doesn't it have to be attempted one time to schedule a retry? It's never been closer than 3 hours away. Do they have a clue what they're doing ?

I’m sure with all the Covid BS and all of the people who get a cold or just take advantage of the two week quarantine that they are short handed. Add in everyone shopping online this year as well as Black Friday and Cyber Monday.

I bought a $1000 muzzleloader a couple weeks ago and it was sent priority 3 day mail from the Midwest. It took 14 days to show, I figured someone saw a gun box and stole it. Bought a Benchmade that was shipped on Monday priority mail and it’s showing it was suppose to be here but is in Vegas which they normally don’t even go to when coming to OR?
I can understand the struggle to move packages with all the mandates, and people taking advantage and not showing up to work. What is frustrating to me is that they are still offering express shipping 1, 2 & 3 day, charging for it and not providing that service

Yes, you are correct. However, it's not limited to 14 days. Thanks to congress and the Families First Coronavirus Response Act, postal employees can take up to twelve (12) weeks - yes you read that correctly - of leave if they meet specific criteria.

Due to the pandemic it's caused an unprecedented amount of packages getting shipped, and couple that with the holidays, it's at levels no one has ever seen. One can imagine the ripple effect this would have on the network. Package volume is up roughly 45% (compared with volume from one-year ago) at the same time that record amounts of employees are not available to work.

Imagine your place of employment getting hit with a 45% increase in workload and you are missing 60% of your employees. Yet, your customers have no clue about the extreme challenges you are dealing with and still expect you to deliver the product as if there was no increase in workload and no employee shortage.

It's the issue that's currently happening in Denver. They are one of the larger processing facilities in the nation and due to employees not showing up, the Postal Service has to divert the volume to Las Vegas, Sioux Falls and Billings, MT. There are processing facilities back east that have to stop processing mail / packages and completely clean the facility due to state mandates. It only exacerbates the back log of packages.

There are letter carriers that are working 80-90+ hours per week. On almost every website I've visited there's a notice that informs you that shipping times will be delayed due to covid.

UPS guy in my driveway yesterday said he makes $24 an hour plus mileage on his car and can work almost unlimited hours. Not unreal money, but damn, for all the complaints about no opportunities sounds like a great way to make a couple grand a week right now.

You are right on about Denver. I’m 25mi north of Denver and I have seen multiple days of delays all year long. To make it worse, my mail has to go through 2 major facilities in Denver before it goes out to Longmont and then to my local post office.

I don’t blame the USPS. Volumes are way up because people are buying online more and more due to lockdowns and virus fears. I won’t even start on their Denver politics. The city and county of Denver closed the facility at one point, and thankfully the federal government set them straight on who has jurisdiction on federal property.

I bought an item from a fellow Rokslider in early Dec. He shipped it the following day from MT. I live in MI, and after 1 week I see it is PITTSBURG, PA! Since then it shows "In Transit". Hopefully I will get it before this spring!

Fedex has consistently been the worst for me , regardless of the Chinavirus or holiday rush. Fedex blows. I currently have 24lbs of powder that made it cross country to my FedEx hub and hasn't moved again for 5 days. Its status is "undetermined"

Fedex is definitely the worst for me. I have had many packages delivered days late, and sometimes they drop packages at the end of my 500ft driveway next to the mailbox!

USPS is usually good, but at the moment they are definitely struggling.

UPS has been the best for a while now.

Was in the middle of reading this thread and the door bell rang on a Sunday afternoon...FedEx guy dropping off something I ordered 3 days ago and a couple of USPS packages there as well. A friendly wave and a thank you/Merry Christmas and the guy was on his way.

The one that I despise is Amazon. Absolutely no help when their stuff doesn’t show up. We have 6 packages all marked that they were delivered an hour ago. We’ve been home all day with the front door open. There have been zero deliveries. Amazon customer service says we won’t refund it because there’s a high probability it will be delivered tomorrow. Then, why the hell does it say it was delivered today?

..!.. Amazon

I had one this month that took around three weeks to get hear and one last month that never arrived. Tracking at one point would stop and say it moving through the system.

I think my packages ended up mixed in with the Trump mail in ballots.

LOL. Wife ordered a gift from Ireland for her sister. Trapped in New York City. Told her to give the tracking number and she can use it as a teachable moment for the kids. That's probably the only value at this point.

The tracking on my package says it arrived at the Denver Distribution Center on the 13th, and then departed an hour or so later to destination. Today it shows that is arrived at the Denver Distribution Center last night on 20th. Good to see that it only took a week to get from the Denver Distribution Center to the Denver Distribution Center. At that rate it will take 9 months to get to the Springs........maybe longer.
