From the pics I say you should shorten it by a half inch. Your left shoulder looks to high and you're a bit locked out in your bow arm. A half inch shorter will help you drop that shoulder down and relax that bow arm. A half inch shorter will also help with shooting uphill/downhill as you will be able to keep your anchor better. That being said take this with a grain of salt. Hard to be a 100% accurate from just a couple of pics.

i think it looks long. experiment. clip your release directly to the string below the d-loop and see how that feels.

I did this a few times. I'm undecided. I really need to spend some time shooting 28 and 28.5" bows. Hopefully this weekend.

How is the new Hoyt loud? I shot the new Hoyt's next to last years and them seemed significantly quieter to me.

I've shot hoyts for 16 years now and while I don't consider them loud, when they switched to the air shox last year I did notice a cupping noise which I believe is from the limbs making contact with the shox. Still IMO, they are quieter than most of the bows I've shot.
