It looks like a custom power pull system. Does the waist belt actually engage at the new attachment or does it pass thru freely? The Osprey power pull system will engage the waist belt at the waist pad and it moves freely thru the buckle side.

It does look like a custom power pull. The single power pull looks like it is not being used. Kifaru now installs two power pull loops. So when you tighten your belt it stays rock solid and does not slip like the one on that belt.

Ya it engages. This mod really can allow you tighten up the waist belt.

So Kifaru is putting this part or something similar to it on there new packs?

2" Techno Grab Tensionlock (National Molding P/N 10151) - probably pulled from a USMC Pack System waistbelt, as those buckles are difficult to impossible to find new on their own. That mod provides a setup similar to what's currently used on the USMC FILBE pack belt and what is being pushed on the newer Mystery Ranch Re-Direct waistbelts.

The single plastic loop you see is the original power pull. It worked but had a tendency to slip and the belt would loosen. Kifaru is now installing 2 of the plastic loops. Run the belt through both then over and back through one. When you pull your belt tight, IT IS NOT BUDGING even a fraction of N inch.

Seems like the cheapest way to do this would be to pick up 2 looploc buckles for about 30 cents each, split them with a hack saw and then put them on the same loop as the one that is already there. For less than $1 it would be worth a shot.
