I've been seeing some really awesome looking rifles out there, with unique color scheme's, and the "Exposed Carbon" patterns have caught my eye. What I'm wondering is, could you do something similar with a barreled action? Whether it's CK, paint, etc, would having those exposed spots cause any weird warping issues with temperature, or cause some random stresses within where the coating is applied potentially? I mean, in the case of cerakote, I doubt there's enough there to dissipate heat enough to do something like that, but I thought it would be interesting to see if anyone has explored that or seen/knows of any issues?
