What's your all's advice on calling in second season OTC? I'm assuming location bugles are out the window. What about cow calling during this time? How often, if at all?

Do they not respond to cow calls at all during this time?
I agree with use of the cow call to stop a bull for a shot. In Colorado, in any real pressured unit, you likely won’t have a lot of success with a bugle, and may just call in other hunters. You might have some flexibility in a private unit, but not on otc public. I’ve glassed bulls go the opposite way when they hear a bugle from a hunter further down the canyon. 2nd/3rd season you need to hunt the hiding spots where pressured elk go and the routes they might take to get to those spots. Snow helps move elk as the seasons get later, but the 2nd/3rd season can come down to hunting the sanctuary spots.
