I have a quick question that has been touched on a bit here in the past. I'm looking to hunt an area that's 5-7 miles in and water is very limited and will probably be very nasty come hunting season. If I'm going in to scout it a few months ahead of time how realistic is it to plan to filter water on site into an MSR dromedary and leave it out there?
I almost always use aqua mira but will filter this stuff to get out everything I can. I've read about putting bleach drops in the water but how much? I'd re-treat wtih aquamira before drinking any of it. Anyone have experience with this?
I understand people's reservations about caching water or gear but this isn't exactly pristine wilderness, just a hard to reach area. There's plenty of other detritus left around by decades of land use and I'll pack out whatever I pack in.
