Burning sage/pine in stoves?

I'm planning on taking a Kifaru stove for the first time to a place I hunt, however the only type of wood around is pine and sage. How do they burn?

I was worried about pine gunking up the stove.

Fast, have plenty around. For the short period of use don't worry about gunking up the pipe, it isn't like a fireplace at home that is used for a long period of time and uses much more wood.

You will be fine. Load it dry and keep it hot just like in a household , and you wont have buildup. Even if you do get a buildup (over lots of time) you can always just unroll the pipe, clean it and reassemble.
