Looking at ordering new arrows. Thinking about match grade 5mm axis 250’s. Arrow length will be 29 1/4”. Pulling 80#. Planning on 125g fixed blades. Can I put 50g or 75g inserts in without being underspined?

I would think so. What's your draw length? Heck I have 75gr HIT's in 30" .300 spine arrows with my 32 1/2" draw, and they shoot fine at 70+ lbs. Let us know how you like those "match grade" Axis. I might have to try some, never cared for their regular ones.

I agree with the above replies. Last year I shot 260 axis with 75 grain brass inserts and 100 grain head. Bow setup was 80# hoyt nitrum and arrows were 29.75" CTC. No issues tuning at all. Arrows were heavy and lethal. I think you should be fine.

I can’t remember for the life of me what my DL is....29.5 seems to ring a bell though

Because the Easton chart I looked at didn’t say anything about inserts or broadheads over 125.

Not trying to be an ass...but why not look at a chart..

The charts will get you in the ballpark but leave room to be desired. There is much they do not factor in that the software programs do factor in.

I would need more info to run it through OT2. But my thinking is your on the cusp with 50s. if your draw lenth is 29.5 and you could I would cut the arrows back to 28 or 27.5 then use the full 75 grain hits. it will stiffen it up a bit and be about the same weight.

I agree with trial. For reference my current setup is axis 300 cut 26.5" ctc with no wrap and 3 2.5" feathers. 75 grain insert and 100 grain head. Draw weight is 66 and draw length is 29 on an obsession knightmare.

You should be fine

I have a similar set up and ran it through pinwheel

79lb. Bow 28inch arrows

I run 50g inserts and 125g heads and I was even a smidge over

Cool thing is you can also run 75g brass with 100g if you have different broadheads laying around
