Breaking out my 30-30, which 1" rings to fit weaver base?

So, my Dad got rid of his rifles and lo and behold, he gifted the 30-30 he bought for me to use when I shot my first deer. Marlin rifle with a weaver cross slot base on it. I have a fixed 4X scope for it, just need to get some rings.
What would you do?

Warne Maxima horizontal would look at least somewhat at home on it.

I put Leupold Backcountry rings on my Marlin 1895 Trapper. They look very similar to the Warne rings (had to look them up after seeing the post by @onlybrowning) but the Leupold rings are much more expensive. Maybe I should have shopped around a little more.

I would get a picatinny base then use Warne rings.

If you keep your weaver base you will have to use only weaver rings, and depending on how many slots your weaver base has you will be limited in ring position which limits setting your eye relief exactly where you want.

Thanks guys,
Took a closer look at the base and it’s screwed on with some flat head screws. Can probably guarantee the screws don’t have Locktite but heck they may be rusted in place lol. I’m gonna see about changing out the base to a picatinny and use some quality rings.

A pic rail is the way to go. Makes swapping out optics so simple if needed again, you wont need to remove the pic rail.
If your Marlin is an older one, hold onto it they are collectable now. Original Marlins before the company was sold have JM stamped on the barrel, those are worth more.

Thx, it's not a 336 but a Glenfield Model 30A. Same pic rail works for both so I ordered an EGW rail and backcountry rings. Would love to see if my gunsmith could chop the magazine extension so he could thread the muzzle - a suppressed 30-30 would be fun.

They work with Warne Bases as well as Weaver Grand Bases if beases are needed?
I like that the Burris Rings won't marr the Scope Tube. Plus helps align the scope.

The stock on those has a lot of drop. Cheek weld is more like chin weld if you don't take care in choosing your mounting system. You want as low a mount as possible and still clear the hammer. Even with low rings, the thickness of a picatinny rail puts you at medium height.

A low height unitized mount like DNZ or Talley is your best bet.
