Guys,
Taking my wife out to Bozeman August 10-16. Going to visit the area and take her to west Yellowstone / Gardiner & YNP. Also going to raft out of Gardiner on the Yellowstone River. Any other places we should hit up or I should take her? Hoping to convince her to move to Bozeman from Alabama with me in a year or so.

I would advise against taking her to Schnee’s stone glacier, Kenetrek and the fly fishing store by the Simms plant. Lol

Museum of the Rockies should be pretty good. You could go to Virginia city and the Lewis and Clark caverns. Feed her in Bozeman though. Great places to eat and very busy downtown area

Just left Yellowstone and Teton today. Holy crap what amazing scenery / country. Flew into Bozeman. Had dinner at Montana Ale House. Yum.
Local beer called Czech-mate brought back memories of tour in Germany. Really yum.
Am in Emigrant MT right now w friends. If you go in north entrance and are hungry when you come out, try Follw yer Nose barbecue in Emigrant. Hole in the wall but the cue is quite tasty.
I’ve spent the whole trip doing the hard sell on moving out here once we get my son thru high school. Wife HATES winter so not lookin good for the home team. I’ve found my church though. This place is a religious experience for me.
Good luck on the sales pitch !

You've got a lot of it nailed pretty well. Wouldn't hurt to drive up Bridger Canyon and see Bridger Bowl w/o the snow. If you're convincing her to move here AND you want to stay in matrimony, make sure to bring her back in the middle of winter. Had -38 two days in a row at my place, the cool factor wears off in a hurry. Also, might make a run to Helena, Missoula, spend some time in Livingston and check out a few other towns. Hike up the M is fun, good views. Enjoy!

Dino museum is badass. If she ain’t into dinosaurs consider a divorce.

Main Street has a ton of fun restaurants and bars.
West Yellowstone has a cool grip/wolf sanctuary
Get up early to hit the park. You can have the roads and the sights to yourself for a couple of hours before the hordes descend.
Don’t waste time looking at that one stupid buffalo on the west side of the park with 500 tourists. There will be hundreds to see in the Lamar valley
Teton and Jackson hole are worth a diversion if schedule permits.

Take her to Main st, show there are lots of shops and things to do. A lot of weekends there are some type of festival/sidewalk things going on. As mentioned the Museum is the Rockies is pretty cool. Check out Roost fried chicken, legit southern fried chicken and sides is hard to find that far north, but they have it. Take a drive out to big sky, fairly scenic, could see a bighorn, and hit the Ousel Falls trail once there, easy hike for families with a cool waterfall at the end.

Just got back from Bozeman in June. Drove down to Jackson Hole for a rodeo and it came a freaking snowstorm.
Stayed in Bozeman the majority of the time. Like others have said go downtown to Schnee's, the Museum and definitely go to Ted's Grill for a Bison steak. Lots of fly fishing shops, just don't mention anything about a Tenkara pole, thought one guys head was gonna pop!! Oh, also go to Murdoch's which is like a Tractor Supply on Steroids and Sportsmans Warehouse beats any BassPro. Also lots of cool 4x4's on the roads which was kind of interesting.
Wish I could afford to live in Bozeman. Don't see it happening in this lifetime but I do love it.
Don't forget the "M Trail" if you think you're up for it!!

FLAK in BAMA.

This last winter particularly sucked in Bozeman. The local paper said we got four and a half times the normal snowfall in Feb which seems about right- tons and tons of it! The long time locals I know told me it's not usually as bad as it was this winter passed. Fairly cold but no worse than I experienced in SD and MN.

Here in the SD hills we had about the normal snow fall but the winds were crazy, almost like being in Big Timber
