Bow Sling

how do you carry a bow, if you are going in the backcountry with horses?
also hiking in
is a bow sling a good idea?
if so-any recommendations?

I just use a Primos Bow Sling. I only use it when strapping my Bow to my pack to protect the strings. Fits pretty much any bow. You could sling it over your shoulder for the ride in pretty easy.

For horses, use a scabbard.

For carrying a bow on the pack, I use a primrose sling with the webbing cut off just to ensure I don't end up hating myself for being that lazy SOB who misses on a precious opportunity by using it during hunting hours.

I use a saddle scabbard when I'm on my mule, otherwise my bow is in my hand or across my shoulders.
