Bow Presses

Thinking about adding one to my home aresenal. Would be for my own bow(s) and maybe the occasional buddy. Last Chance Archery seem to be the most common, but so many options that it becomes a bit confusing. Use would be for tinkering, peep adjustments, cable or yolk twists on occasion. I shoot Hoyts to include the Rx-1 and a Carbon Spider ZT LD. I know there can be issues with the fingers per Hoyt's recommendations but reading that the standard fingers are fine for the Rx-1. I shoot 80# limbs so not sure if that puts me in one model vs another. Anybody using these and what would you recommend? Thought about getting the draw board attachment as well, unless its not good. Open to other suggestions as well.

I own a LCA bow press and although I own Prime Centergy Hybrids and Rival bows I've pressed my friends Hoyt Spiders and RX1 with it. As I recall the straight fingers would have worked easier on the RX1 but we were to lazy to change them out and so the other ones worked. Great bow press and LCA are nice people to work with.


If you don't already have their EZ Vise add it to a wishlist. It's the shitz I bought mine used but it's well worth the $260 if you spend much time working on your own bows.

Just another option you might look at is a Bowmaster press and a SpewingJason vice(from AT). I've got $60-75 in the two combined, and it works great for just what you mentioned.

Have a Last Chance EZ Green. Sometimes it sits there for months, but comes in handy when needed.

Zero issues pressing my RX-1 and CS 34 with the same fingers. No need for the adapter with the RX-1.

I think you might need the adapters if you wanted to take the limb off an RX-1, but all build and maintenance tasks can be done without the adapters.

I see a lot of people use the Last Chance EZ press. A lot of pro staff use the X press and pro press. Any thoughts on those two? I too am in the market for a press.

Last time I checked a bowmaster can’t press any Hoyt’s from 16 and on. Could be wrong but I don’t think they can. A similar option to that is a synunm bow press. I have one with the adapters for the new Hoyt’s. A little slower than a full size one but it works very well and takes no space and half the price. Plus I can take it with me on hunts and leave it in the truck. Just throwing it out there
