So I'm looking to pick up a pair of new boots for my upcoming elk hunting trip. The problem is I have wide feet. I've been eyeing the Crispi boots and really like them but noticed that they don't offer many models in wide. What do some of you guys use or recommend?

Also I'm hoping to use these boots for both elk in Colorado and antelope in Wyoming. (If even possible) Should I go insulated or non insulated? I typically hunt elk the 2nd rifle season and antelope the first of October. If I had to I have a nice pair of Danners I could use for antelope as that season is typically warmer. Thoughts?

Meindl boots are about the widest I have found, they also have a generous toe box as well. Cabelas usually has a few of their boots around If you live near one.

Go to CrispiUS.com (Blackovis.com who is a sponsor here). They have the Crispi Guide and The Crispi Hunter in EE widths, not sure about the other Crispi boots. I ordered the Hunter in 11 EE, and they ran true to size and fit perfectly. If you order them by phone you can get a 10% discount on your first order. Their return policy is quick and easy, and their CS is excellent.

Thanks I will check that out. What do you guys recommend on boot insulation for 2nd rifle season in CO? I'm leaning towards going non-insulated and going with high quality socks instead.

I have crispi Thor’s and Idaho’s. Their 13 wide fits my feet great with a green super foot and a good sock. My feet measure 12.5 EEE or EEEE so on the wider side. I can’t speak to Colorado 2nd season but those Idaho’s have been good into the 30s for me. I switch to insulated for consistently freezing temps and snow.

2nd season in CO can be sunny and 75 or snowing and in the 20's. I bring a non insulated boot and an insulated boot. I then make the decision in the morning before leaving camp.

Crispi Nevada in wide has a nice toe box.

Crispi Summit in wide also.

Kenetrek has a nice wide and can also be stretched by a cobbler for even wider.

Meindl at Cabela’s is also generous

Rocky Boots has tons of wide and extra wide options as they supply military. Love the sv2 insulated for extremely cold and harsh terrain.

Lowa may be wide enough for you, I wasn’t that lucky.

If you go with the Crispi Guide or Crispi Hunter, they both have only 200 grams of insulation, which is minimal. I'm not sure how much the other Crispis have. I hunt the 2nd Rifle Season in Colorado, and I count on heavy socks to keep my feet warm. I use the Kenetrek Ultimate liner sock along with the Kenetrek Alaska sock, which I found to be a perfect combination for me.

can't believe you guys are saying cabelas meindl's are wide. i bought a 10 wide and it's way too narrow for me (wide, flat feet). ditto for a irish setter wide model i tried on at sportsmans warehouse a few months ago.

Another vote for the meindl’s. I like how they fit so well I bought three pair.
