Recently I had to have a fairly major foot surgery. The doctor broke my heal bone (calcaneal osteotomy) and moved it over to correct me from walking on the out part of my foot. I also had a torn tendon in my ankle that was repaired. Since the surgery I have noticed none of my shoes fit very well. I would assume it is because my heal has been moved.

I typically wear 12EE, or if I can find them 11.5EEEE. I will be going to Bozeman this summer and will be going by Kenetrek and Schnee to try on some boots.

Looking for a boot with good ankle support, and fairly stiff. I have noticed since surgery I prefer a fairly stiff boot.

what are most guys wearing with wide feet?

thanks

I wear 11.5EE in almost everything. I just bought Crispi Nevadas & they are definately wide, to the point that I think I could have gotten by with just an 11.5 regular, and I have a very wide foot. I can lace them tight enough, that it doesn't matter though. If I get Crispi boots again, I'll probably go with the regular size.

I wear a 13 4e and the crispi seems to be the best so far. Irish setter runs wide but don’t last forever. Believe it or not under armor boots treated me pretty good and are some of the widest I’ve tried. If they still made the Uninsulated browtine I’d buy another pair to replace the pair I burnt through. Before I found crispi that was my go to boot

Kennetrek makes a legit wide in your size. So does lathrop and sons. Crispi Nevada’s are wide in the toe box but I found the sizing to require I go up and that was a deal breaker for me. Rocky boots tactical come in every size and shape. And lowa makes a wide but I found it to be tight in the mid foot and toe box. For the price, the Nevada’s stand out but they are not as stiff, and that you may like or dislike

EEE here. Crispi, merrell, asolo and danner.

I hiked asolo wides and Merrells for years.

Still like merrell for approach shoes and light hikers like the Moab.

My current go to boots are Crispi Thor and Idaho I have a set of Kenetrec mountain extremes that work as well.
