I just received in the mail a pair of Asolo Avalon that I ordered from STP.

I needed a good pair of boots for work which is for me working on concrete floors for 10 hours a day.

The boots are definetly higher quality then I was expecting and I would say are at initial look and feel, significantly better built then my Salomon Quests, but only time will tell with that.

These boots are VERY stiff but still very comfortable and am liking the feel of a stiffer boot.

Anyway, no matter how tight I lace them I have a slight bit of heel slippage when walking with them. Is this something that might go away with break in? I've only ever worn Salomon Quests as my first "mountain" boot and they required almost no break in at all so I'm not sure what to expect after a few weeks of use.

have you tried lacing in that way designed to hold down your heel? i could google it for you..i think there was a thread.

IMHO, heel slip doesnt go away with break-in. if anything, as the boot fits better where it is tight, you may get MORE heel slip.

my go-to move is to try that fancy lace method AND i always change over to SuperFEET greens.

This is very hard to describe for some reason but when you start to tie them, when you put one lace under/over the other before pulling that back to the tongue, just go around one more time. Cinches up the heel somehow. I don’t know if that made sense, hopefully it did.
