I ordered a set of the 8190 strings and cables a few months ago to put on my CPXL. I have had them on about three months now so thought I would post my thoughts for what they are worth.
Out of the package, very good attention to detail. I had the speed buttons pre installed and the shrink wrap was tight all the way around and trimmed nicely right at the buttons. Serving appeared tight and they were just a nice looking set of threads.
Put them on and checked the specs. Only took a couple of twists in the cables to get the bow into spec for draw weight, brace, ATA and draw length. Length was pretty much right on.
Put in the peep, set the d loop to come back straight and started shooting. Just blind bale shot for about a week to get the strings to settle before I tuned. After a week nothing had moved so I tied in the peep for real and set the timing and sync. I have not touched it since and everything is still in place. First set of strings I have had in a long time that didn't move at least twice within the first couple of months.
I shoot most every day, at least a few arrows. To date the serving at the nock is showing very little wear. On the Insanity bows there is a post that the cables go over on the cam the is very hard on serving, so far no separation there either. My factory Octane strings and my last set of Vapor Trail strings were separating over the post in less than a week. There has been no fuzzing or wear anyplace on strings/cables yet, they look like the day I put them on.
So far I am very impressed with the string and cables. Not sure how the 8190 will hold up over the long term, I'll reserve judgement on that until this time next year. Have heard a lot of complaints about the material but in reading through them I think it is the build rather than the material. I'll know for sure in a year or so.
Great set of strings and cables. Very nice guy, easy to deal with and will answer all questions and concerns. Anyone that is thinking about getting a set should do so without any reservation. Anyone needing a set and not sure where to get them I highly recommend Bluff Country. These have been far and away better than the last sets of Winners Choice and Vapor Trail's that I have had. Strings and cables like these are why I started going with custom threads in the first place. Give them a try.
Disclaimer, I am not associated withe the guy or company in any way. Just a satisfied customer giving a review after putting the product through some paces.
