Bikini power pull not working right

When I pull on the strap the D-ring wants to twist and it doesn't tighten. It seems to be only one side. I looked closely at both sides and the other side has a different looking wider webbing. The D ring on the bad side has 1/2 of play up and down while the good side only moves 1/8 inch or so. Headed out in the morning with my girls all weekend for their first backpacking trip so I'll call the shop on Monday. Anyone have a quick fix for this? I know it's gonna drive me crazy if it does it all weekend.

I had the issue with my T2 when I first bought it; the D ring (power pull) was not sewn down tight enough so it twisting just enough to make it useless. I sent the belt back to Kifaru and it was a quick fix (resewn). Hope that makes sense...

Same issue here but I'll deal with it till after season, my ku belt had the same issue same side. I also noticed the D-ring on the left side is more angled then the right.

Seems like the angleallows the D-ring to fold the webbing and then that folds the power-pull webbing which allows it to slip a little, I can still get it really tight, seems to only slip a 1/2 in before it catches.

Call Kifaru. It wasn't sewn properly. They will get it taken care of right away. They most likely could overnight a waist belt to you if it's a rush.

I had the same problem but it only popped up when I had the pack loaded with 75+ lbs. I was able to get my belt tight but I will be calling Kifaru

Same here. I thought I was an idiot for not getting it to work. Never had the issue with the T2

I'm having the same problem and just on one side as well, looking closely at the stitching I can see absolutely no difference between the two sides. I removed one belt pouch on the side in question and with little effort am able to hold the d-ring straight and pull with the other hand. It's a little awkward but it works for now. With sheep opener less than 10 days away here this pack is going nowhere but up a mountain.

Tighten the bad side first then pull on the good side is working for me at least until after hunting season.

Aron,
Are you guys getting called on this issue or is it something simple we are overlooking?

Mine are dead even in terms of their play and have been working perfectly (about 1/8" to 1/4"). I have tried 120 lbs. with the same result.

I would think that if they weren't even, they wouldn't pull with even pressure. When in doubt you can always go back to the old standard way of tightening your hip belt until Kifaru can fix it. You will just need to pull harder than you are used to.

I had the same issue with my KU3700 when I first got. For my case it was a matter of operator error. When I changed my technique the problem went away. I found that if my belt was not straight (in-line) the power pull would buckle. If I pulled up slightly on the belt while tightening it would also buckle. The trick is to get even tension along the thickness of the belt when you pull, sometimes even pushing downward slightly as you pull. If there is too much tension on the top or bottom of the belt webbing it will buckle instead of tightening up.

We send a belt out every now and then that the plastic common loop twists.

If this is happening with anyone's belt, call the shop and they will take care of you.

Are guys not using it correctly or is something really off sewing wise? Post some pics.
Mine is working like a champ.

Well, I went out with my daughters last weekend and it didn't do it once. I'm headed out on a bow hunt this weekend so I'll let it ride a bit and see how it does.
