Hello all.

I am in need of a new bow for next season. Is it best to wait for the new bows to drop to see what comes out? Buy now or get better deal over next couple months?

I don't need a new bow right away but I`m impatient and would like to get shooting. Looking for opinions on best time to buy this winter.

Thanks for any advise.

Shops will likely start discounting their 2021-and-older inventory over the next few months as the new 2022 bows come out. If you're willing to buy used, there will also be a lot of guys looking to sell their current bows over the next few months.

Thanks.

Kind of what I figured. Not new to bows just new bows. lol

I dont mind spending the money but would enjoy saving some. Its just hard not having a bow to shoot.

Any advise on a hunting bow? I`m 30 dl and used to 70 dw but my shoulder is getting bad to might back that down a little.

As mentioned there are lots of options if looking to buy a 2022, be sure to get your order in early. I waited 3 months for my Hoyt Ventum 30. Placed the order in February.

Bows are like cars, they all do pretty much the same thing but everyone has a reason why their standby brand is the best.

On that note, I love my Hoyts. As mentioned I purchased a new Ventum 30 for this season. I shot my first buck with a bow this past Friday. It performed flawlessly. Arrow zipped right through him at 30 yards.

I too was coming from older bows. I previously had a Hoyt Sierra Tech that I bought in 2004. Not a thing wrong with it, just wanted and upgrade.

Primes have a pretty smooth draw. Bowtech is very nice on comfort but you drop some speed for it. I have a Revolt x and i love it. I just sold my buddy my Prime ct5. The Black is close enough the same. I Recommend the Bowtechs. I shoot 29.5 and 70 lbs. Ive cranked it down to 62 or so and have it at 71lbs right now. Near 65lbs i could shoot it all day long.

I have been looking into the Hoyt Ventum 33. Seems like it checks all my boxes. Might try to find a used one but would like new so no problems. Atleast I would hope.

Best time to buy a new bow is when you have the leverage (same for just about anything.....like vehicles and homes). Never put yourself in a position where you "have" to buy right now, and then pounce when the timing is right.

I hear you,

I dont have to buy one this minute, However, my old bow is done so have to do something in the near future.

A few years back I needed to replace the cables on my old Browning Detonator and found out that those metal cables are no longer available. Decided to change the cams and upgraded to a new cable system using Diamond Infinite Edge cams and have some new strings built. Bow shoots like a dream at 70lbs. Decided this year to upgrade to a new bow and shot a number of bows and came down to a Solution or V3. These were incredible shooters with very tight groups. I was also wondering when the best time to buy and should I wait for the 2022 models. Just wondering?

Depends on brand and size. If you look hard enough you could probably find some left over VXRs at a good price but that’s if you don’t care about color.

Can always rattle can to your preference for the right price on a real nice shooting bow.

Some shops do consignment for the used bows guys bring in to get the newest bow each year. If your shop does this, leave them your number and tell them what your looking for.

Also, when new models come out, guys buy them over the next 6 to 9 months. Be patient and you can pick up a used good bow.
