I'm heading to WY next fall for two weeks in late OCT. Pack-in trip no horses. I'm looking for a lightweight three season tent for two people. What would you recommend for this pack trip. Leaning toward the Tarp tent Scarp 2.
Thanks

Late october you may want to start thinking about a Tarp + Stove. Not sure on your budget but the Sawtooth is fantastic for 2. Also able to support a Stove. incase you get crapped on. We normally start to get our first signs of winter here in Denver around Mid Oct. Not full on or anything but the temps at night can really drop out. If your going to be at elevation then its even more important. + nothing beats coming back from a hard day to a warm Tipi with a stove. It really boosts the moral =-)

The Sawtooth is just under 5 lbs with stakes and poles. You can go even lighter if you cut your own stick and leave the Poles at home. My 2 cents.

I don't have any experience with the Scarp 2, but do own a Rainshadow 2 and love it. The Scarp 2 looks like it would hold up fine.

SHTF makes a good point though, once it hits mid October in the high country, we're packing the stoves. Once you start taking them, it's hard to go back!

That's true considering it's snowing there now.
Thanks for the reply
