What is the best arrow rest for my Martin jaguar Takedown? This is my first recurve and I know I need to upgrade from the rest that came with it. I'd appreciate any advice.
I've been thinking about it more and I think I can shoot it off the shelf with a little bit of work. What is the best material for lining the shelf? I was thinking leather for more of a traditional look.
For rests, Well, many options out there. You can use a plunger type rest or simple ones like the bear weather rest. In the trad world rest are not necessary by any means, but it can help with tuning arrows to your bow. Also, guys who suffer from bad form really like it since arrow contact is minimal and hides bow arm torque/movement.
As for shooting off shelf, you can use any smooth material. I use calf skin.
Try both out and see which one you like. Its cheap to try. Visit Tradgang and stickbow websites, ton of trad info there.
