I'm new around here! I'm planning a 2015 Co archery hunt. Im in the get in shape, research gear phase. I have a bad ankle that tends to roll due to a bad back surgery. Right now I'm leaning towards the lowa tiblet hi for the hunt. Would there be a better option for ankle support??

Ok I will do that. Last time I rolled mine I tore 2 tendons, rather not do that in the mountains! Would make for a long crawl!

Have you ever looked into plastic boots like koflach or scarpa. Most Alaskan guides swear by them. I have even had a few hunters start wearing them on elk hunts in the lower 48. I wear mine on every hunt mountains or not. Support is second to none. They take a bit to get used to but if you have ankle issues you may want to check them out, you never know.

Actually I came across some today, 1st I had seen of them and for $300. I wondered if guys were hunting in them. I thought they might be over kill for most guys. I will keep an eye on them also. Thanks

I have a buddy who hunted Alaska this year with a fractured ankle wearing Scarpas... Not the plastic ones though, he wore the Mont Blanc GTX...between injections he had to do every morning a soft ankle brace and those boots he made it an entire sheep season with no major issues
