What 6.5 bullet have you had the best luck out of? Been running a 135 jlk in my Saum but it’s like a grenade at high velocity impact. Looking at the Hammer 125hht’s and Barnes 127’s

I like Bergers. The 156 and 140’s are deadly. The hornady 143 ELDX is another good choice and a lot of people use the 140 ELDM with good luck. Nosler Accubond 140 is another popular one

I have both a 6.5 Creedmoor and a 6.5 PRC. I shoot the 124 Hammer Hunter and both are extremely accurate in my rifles. Unfortunately I cannot comment on their effectiveness on game. I will confess however Natchez had a sale and I bought some 127 Barnes LRX's. I haven't made a load for them yet. I've killed a decent amount of game with the TSX, and TTSX so I expect similar performance.

127 LRX is a great bullet. Seat it just above the the crimp groove over a near max load of suitable powder and I bet you it will shoot well. Did a great job taking a very big cow elk with 1 shot.

Hornady ELD M is the way to go. S&B and Aguila ain’t it when it comes to long range. good for messing about but that’s it, in my opinion

I'm just a deer hunter not a long range guru, I have great luck with Speer hot core 140's. They fly good with great results and are cost friendly..

Have had good luck with the 127 lrx as well as the 120 nbt at moderate velocity on deer (6.5 CM). The 143 ELd-x had a little more grenade than I wanted, but was certainly effective. That’s a half dozen deer all under 200 yards.

Are the JLKs a recent run? Curious if they are still making bullets with the new ownership.

I am almost out of my legacy Swampy made 140 JLKs, would be interested in buying more if they are still being made and working well.

For my 6.5 PRC barrel, the best over-all accuracy was found with the Matrix 160 gr. VLD. They are rare as hens teeth now adays, but you can still find some listed for sale now and then.

For what? That HHT is a great hunting bullet, but pricey for practice and plinking.

The Barnes LRX 127 G can be troublesome to load. My 280 AI was a pain to load for the LRX bullet as well. Lots of jump and near max load is where it shot on my 280. Still working on my 6.5 CM.

I like Lapua 123 grain Scenar, but shoot some 130 and 140 grain factory seconds when they are on sale.

I shoot the 127 LRX in my 6.5 prc and 124 Hammer in my .260. I’ve tried it the other way around too, with acceptable results, each one just shows slight preference to each respective bullet. They both kill just fine. Put one where it belongs and keep the impact velocity up, 1800fps+, preferably more.

They are 143gr ELDX bullets. They look and shoot great.
I normally use the Hornandy ELDX 6.5prc 143gr precision hunter bullets. Thanks I was thinking of using these to reload for practice shooting - and try to create the same load as the precision hunter.
