Bees and elevation.

At what elevation do the common "meat bees" cease to be an issue?
Does it correlate to the timberline? Do they nest in trees or are they ground hive bred?
Just curious.

i dont know much about the bees themselves, but here in WA it seems you cant get high enough..

I've seen them up to 13k feet before, so I don't think they have much of a limit.

Dont think elevation matters, yellow jackets will build a hive almost anywhere... Trees, shrubs, crack in a rock, underground in an existing hole.
